Homecoming parade

Last night was the homecoming parade. It was raining throughout the day, but thankfully held off for the parade. This was the first time we picked up a friend and brought him to our house after school. It was a first for him, too. His mom, Peony, said he has only been picked up from school by parents and grandparents. Everyone was thrilled with our plan and had a great time showing him around our house. They were great little hosts. We made mini bagel pizzas for a snack and headed to the parade. It goes along the road behind our house, we just walked. His parents met us at the parade along with his little brother. We had a great time. They went to the game after. We came home. Azalea and her family came to our house for pizza. We did this last year and it was great. I really wanted to do it again. No one from last years group could come this year. Keeping the tradition alive with others was great. N stopped home to retrieve the Ipad and got to say hi. He had a slice of pizza and headed back to work. Kids were in bed by 9. I followed them shortly after. I just couldn't stay awake for N. Today we have soccer. So happy to report the sun is shining and hopefully we won't have to sit in the rain to watch the games.
