The last day

Today was the last day of school. What a day it turned out to be! We arrived early for the kindergarten picnic. We presented Mr. T with the book we made for him. He was thrilled and very thankful. Seven had a great day of games and fun. He brought Hungry, Hungry Hippos to share with friends. The students were invited to bring a game to play. When we arrived to pick up Seven, Mr. T and a friend of ours were in a game of Battleship.
The kindergarten picnic was in full swing on time. It was really crowded this year because of rain outside. Last year it was full, but many went outside where it was cooler. We made banana chip muffins and came home with almost an empty container. Mr. L was really happy with his gift. I emailed the parents and shared details with them about the book. They were happy and glad to see the book today. It was great. The kids were all smiles. Buddies were taking pictures of each other, happy to be seated together. It's sad to think they have had lunch together all these months and now might not see each other for awhile. It will never be the same. Some may have the same teacher, but not all will be together. They move on and make new friendships. I know which class Five will be in for First grade, but do not know about Seven yet. I have heard more homework comes with second grade. Seven was burnt out in the end. I am glad he will have a nice break for awhile.
Tomorrow is soccer and my friend Ivy will bring her two boys over to play. Let the fun begin! The pressure is off and we can enjoy our time together.
