This is the first year in many yeas we have been able to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family, with family. It was a wonderful weekend. Sunflower was a great hostess. The kids were so thrilled to be together again. She was hearing all the same questions I was: "When are they coming? How long are they staying? How many nights do we get?" I love seeing the kids together. They enjoy each other so much and are making many great memories together. Cousin #5 and the boys are inseparable for the entire visit, always. They sleep in the same room, run around the house playing the same activities. On Thursday morning, they ate breakfast, got their coats and snow pants on and were off to find adventures outside. Cousins #7, 8 and 9 were also entertaining. Cousin #7 is the leader of the three. He is three years old and has lots of his own ideas. Cousin #2 generally follows along, but does get stepped on by the three year old brother. Cousin #9 is walking now! He just turned one year and seems too short to walk. He's all over the place and always has a smile on his face. He loves everyone and is pretty chatty, even if what he says doesn't make sense. Cousins #1, 2, 3 and 4 are always very helpful and sweet. Cousin #1 works at Cinnabon at the mall and brought home some yummy roles for breakfast. What a treat! She helped out with the big dinner and made life easier.
The meal prep was not stressful at all. So many helped and everything got done on time with ease. It was a wonderful day. Aunt Lilac and Aunt Lily were able to join us as well. We stayed until later in the day and then headed home. All children wanted to stay longer, but N had to work and I was tired. I didn't sleep the best the night before.
We are thankful we were able to spend the day together and that everyone is healthy and happy. What a wonderful Thanksgiving 2011 turned out to be!
